The
Turbo I-D (1.9 oz, 51gm) is an adjustable, minimalist solo stove suitable
for one person. It's designed to be used with cook pots having a maximum
base diameter of 5 inches (12.5 cm) and a maximum capacity of 1 liter.
The Evernew 600ml Pot, Evernew 640ml Deep Pot (sold by Brasslite) and Snow
Peak 600 & 700 ml Titanium Mugs are examples of appropriate pots for the
Turbo I-D. See pot
size recommendations for further information.
See below for stove specifications.
The
Turbo I-D is now available with custom
stand extensions to improve stability with pots having a base diameter
near the maximum recommended size.
Note: Stand extensions are permanently
attached and without clipping to size, will prevent the stove from nesting
inside cups. Choose this option only if you intend to use the stove with pots
larger than 4"(10cm) in diameter, where fit will not be an issue.

+ Weighed on Royal EX-2 digital scale accurate +/- 0.1 ounce.
* Tested in windless and light wind conditions, warm and cold temperatures. The average was taken. Burn time may be affected by environmental factors such as temperature, wind and conservation of heat inside the windscreen. Field tests have shown that wrapping a windscreen too close to the stove while using a pot with less than 5 in (13 cm) diameter base may dramatically reduce burn time.
** Stove trials involved three test burns, and the average time is posted. Cookpot used for Turbo I-D tests: Brasslite 0.9 Liter Titanium Mug. Starting water temp: 50 degrees F.(10 C). Interior environment was used. Room and fuel temps: 70 degrees F (22 C). Elevation: 80 ft. No simulated wind, but windscreen was used. Stove sitting on plywood surface. Starting fuel amount used for Turbo I-D: 1 US fluid oz (30 ml.) plus 2 ml preheat. The Turbo I-D consistently boiled 16 oz (500 ml.) in an average time of 5 minutes. Pot size and proportion, metal type and thickness, wind conditions, windscreen position, lower starting temperature of water, lower outside air temperature, and elevation may all increase field boil times.
If you are interested in having a pot cozy to use in conjunction with your stove (saves lots of fuel!), return to this page after ordering and click here for more information. Brasslite highly recommends a pot cozy as an alternative to simmering.
