This
aluminized mylar emergency blanket is a materials source for an excellent
addition to your hiking umbrella during summer or desert hiking. Using a technique
introduced by Ray Jardine, the material is measured and cut to shape to fit
your umbrella (such as the Golite Dome) and attached to the top with rubber
bands or duct tape. It will reflect more than 90% of the sun's radiant energy
and definitely helps when hiking in Utah, Arizona, the PCT or similar areas.
